Before starting Arm & Leg as a designer and fabricator, William Armsby worked for companies in Atlanta and New York, including:
- Moon Bros. Architects and Craftsmen
- DLV Designs
- Withers + Grain
During these formative years, William became wholly devoted to the craft of the builder. This, not only as a means to procure a living, but as a larger purpose: to participate in tradition, and thus pass lasting value into the future.
Craft is an elevated term in William's vocabulary. It applies not only to the built world, but goes further to describe things like organization, communication, and the cultivation of relationships. In this broader sense, a synonym for craft might be sincerity— and this is a guiding principle.
